Long Over due....Afton's first six months in a Nut Shell

Looks like I've been a little busy since my last blog in January 2010. Afton Genevieve Warriner was born May 21, 2010, at 12:51am. My pregnancy was picture perfect except for a potential placenta problem, but luckily that worked itself out. Labor was picture perfect as well and was able to go home after 2 1/2 days cooped up in a tiny hospital room. We immediately went on our family beach trip two weeks after Afton's birth. Afton was great at the beach and all of Jacob's family was there to lend a helping hand. My maternity came and went and I had to go back to working the night shift. Daddy was forced to do the night shift as well, tending to Afton during the night who didn't sleep through the night until 3 months. The first few weeks were bad, but it eventually got a little easier. I only got one 4 am phone call from daddy, not knowing what to do for a screaming baby. One month to the day I left the night shift at Brandermill Woods and Started the day shift at The Laurels of Bon Air, another local nursing home. Besides the new job, I only work four days a week and get to work with my mom. Also during the new job, we were putting a offer on a house!! This was in August and we moved into our home on October 2, 2010. We absolutely love being homeowners and everything that goes with that. And Afton is finally in her own room. October also brought a family trip to Georgia to visit with Jacob's brother and his family. October 20 was 3rd anniversary and we went to dinner at Longhorn and dessert at Sweet Frog sans baby. The following weekend was our housewarming party which was a success with about 20 of our closet friends. Afton's first halloween came and went, she was a cute little sunflower. Novemember came along and we took Afton to the Blue Ridge Mountains and took her to Afton Mountain and visited their winery. We bought two Afton Mt wines and took several pictures for her room. Thanksgiving was a full day, tons of new family and friends, even her great-great aunt and uncle warriner. Which leads us to now, I am now thinking of what to by my little girl for her first Christmas.
